Elderly Care Unit
Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We have a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.
We are now looking for a dietitian for the Elderly Care Unit!
We are looking for you who are a dietitian and want to be part of the development at the Elderly Care Unit. The Elderly Care Unit provides care throughout Uppsala County. We offer a permanent full-time position, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may apply.

Your mission
As a dietitian at the Elderly Care Unit, you help elderly individuals in need of medical care at home. The tasks consist of dietary treatment and advice to patients and their relatives as well as healthcare staff. Some staff training may be included.
The Elderly Care Unit has developed a unique way of working with elderly patients who need medical care at home in collaboration with home healthcare. At the Elderly Care Unit, you have the opportunity to dedicate the time needed to your patients, and you follow your patients over time, ensuring good quality and continuity.
Our working method is based on close cooperation with the municipalities' home healthcare, including joint rounds, home visits, and contact via phone and data systems. You will be part of a team with doctors, pharmacists, speech therapists, dietitians, social workers, and medical secretaries. Considering the patient's needs, you have great opportunities to plan your time to suit both you and your patients.
Your competence
We are looking for you who are a licensed dietitian, either a junior dietitian straight from education or with previous experience from working in primary care and/or with elderly individuals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, that you have the capacity to work independently, and a good ability and willingness to develop collaboration, both within the unit and with respective healthcare neighbors. A B driver's license and good driving experience are required.
As a person, you are clear in your communication and structured in your work approach. You have good pedagogical skills, are attentive, and can easily establish contact with both patients, relatives, and colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Our operations
The Elderly Care Unit is a specialized and high-quality unit that provides home care for multi-sick elderly individuals who are connected to municipal home healthcare in ordinary housing. The Elderly Care Unit is a county-wide operation as part of the goal "Close Care 2030". The operation is conducted as a collaboration between Region Uppsala and home healthcare in the municipalities of Uppsala County.
